If you’re lucky enough to live in a tropical climate or anywhere between zones 10 and 11,
your job is done. These plants will remain evergreen and just need a little pruning over the winter months to
keep the plants cleaned up and encourage new spring growth.
For those of us not lucky enough to be spending our winter days in the tropics, we can certainly bring a taste of them into our home year-round. HibisKISS™ make great container plants for summer patios and can easily be brought in and overwintered with a little care for winter enjoyment.
Bring your HibisKISS indoors before the night temperatures dip below 40°F. They’ll want to be placed in a bright, sunny area with indoor temperatures of 55° to 70°F. The plants will often have yellowing leaves after being brought into their new location, but this is completely normal. When ready, they’ll drop those leaves and new ones will appear. Be sure to only water the plants when the soil is completely dry so the roots do not rot.
